Corporate milestones since 1996
Imedos GmbH was founded in Weimar by Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Riemer, Gerald Floßmann and Dr Ing. habil. Walthard Vilser as a start-up company. The founders previously worked together in the interdisciplinary working group for microcirculation at the Eye Clinic of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, which was headed up by Dr Vilser for many years.
New technology for the analysis of retinal vessels: Development of the Retinal Vessel Analyzer (RVA), the world’s first system for analysing temporal and local vascular changes in the retina.
Introduction of the high-resolution fundus imaging system VISUALIS for digital imaging of the ocular fundus.
Development of the Dynamic Vessel Analyzer (DVA) for the functional analysis of vessels and the Static Vessel Analyzer (SVA) for the examination of vessel conditions. Now both systems enable the use of vessel analysis as part of the clinical routine.
The Imedos team relocated from Weimar to Jena by moving into the new office buildings of the industrial park Jena-Maua. Kick-off for Imedos Academies in Jena with detailed product training and presentation of latest research findings. Since then, the Academies have taken place two to four times a year.
Introduction of the product line RCrodent for non-invasive analysis of retinal microcirculation in small animals such as rats, mice and rabbits.
First international Imedos Academy in Italy with numerous lectures and a detailed demonstration of Imedos technology.
20th anniversary of Imedos.
Development of the IOPstim – A world first in the field of ophthalmodynamometry for determining retinal venous pressure in combination with state-of-the-art functional diagnostics.
Opening of second office location in Kahla and restructuring to Imedos Systems GmbH.
