Assessing parameters of the retinal microcirculation is not only widely used in clinical routine and vascular research in human medicine, but also has great potential for the field of scientific laboratories.

The RCrodent systems from Imedos have been specifically developed for use in scientific laboratories for retinal imaging and analysing particularly small eyes, e.g. the eyes of rodents and small animals.

Our product portfolio includes various RCrodent systems. Made up of a powerful imaging system (fundus camera) and innovative analysis software, they enable static and/​or dynamic vessel analysis, depending on the system configuration.

RCrodent Color

Thanks to the RCrodent Color, high-resolution colour images of the fundus of the eye can be taken. The system can optionally be extended by all other modules of retinal vessel analysis and, in this way, be individually adapted to the respective research questions.

RCrodent FAG

Thanks to illumination and image-processing software that has been especially adapted, fluorescein angiographic examinations of small eyes can be precisely documented using the RCrodent FAG. It is also possible to expand the application spectrum of the system with retinal vessel analysis.

SVArodent

In combination with the Imedos software for static vessel analysis, the SVArodent system enables static vessel parameters to be determined and the condition of micro-vessels in small animals to be evaluated.

DVArodent

Equipped with the Imedos software for dynamic vessel analysis, the DVArodent system offers an innovative solution for determining the (endothelial) function and autoregulation of microcirculation in small animals.

Endothelial function represents an important key with regard to the pathogenesis of various diseases and is coming more and more into focus for new therapeutic approaches.

In this way, this system offers numerous advantages, particularly in the field of translational research. As a bridge between clinical and experimental science, translational research focuses on the application of research results to benefit patients.
